At a festive networking event, PingProperties handed over the climate-adaptive courtyard garden at the Dutch Tech Campus. This courtyard garden in the Dutch Innovation Park has been redeveloped as a meeting place where people can wind down and get together.
The courtyard garden has been redeveloped as a natural, sustainable and safe garden in which a balanced symbiosis exists between people and nature. At the same time it will support the biodiversity of the wider environment.
Festive opening
Jan Iedema (Zoetermeer city councillor for the Economy) had the honour of officially opening the courtyard garden by switching on the Christmas lights.
‘This courtyard garden is perfectly in keeping with the image of the Campus. Modern, sustainable and trendsetting’, explains the councillor. ‘Thanks to the efforts of PingProperties, business activity in the district has increased significantly in recent years. The courtyard garden offers all workers a place to unwind and get together.’
Redevelopment of courtyard garden
The courtyard garden has undergone a genuine transformation: 1,400 m² of planting has been added, all the existing trees have been preserved, 5,000 m² of pedestrian zones have been repaved using existing paving bricks, the outdoor lighting has been replaced by LED lighting, and the 1,450-m² pond has been renovated with attractive aquatic plants. Sitting areas have been created for relaxation, with outdoor benches and tables made from plastic waste. This material is recycled waste that is collected and reused by municipalities.
